How to plan the photoshoot

all

It all starts with knowing your goals, why do you need a photoshoot? Maybe you are a blogger and need cool content for the next month? You are selling your products and want to create a solid visual story to attract more customers? Or maybe you are traveling and want some nice shots in interesting locations? You name one!

Finding the right photographer for you is very important! Search for photogs whose styles you really like and that will help you achieve your final goals. Browse their portfolios, look for their packages and pricing. Decide who you want to hire and who will potentially meet all of your expectations

Be ready with an idea to share with the photographer. The better you understand what you need the best you can explain it. Or if you don’t have any ideas yet and you need help, let the photog know and describe your needs and goals

Get the references! You can find some inspiration on Pinterest or instagram. Share these too. that’s really important because the photog will know exactly what you want. You both will get some cool ideas and inspiration while creating the moodpboard. With the references you can also get ideas on such things as: location, wardrobe, poses etc

Choose the location or ask your photographer for an advise

Plan your wardrobe and accessories before hand. If you need more content, and your photoshoot duration is not less than 30-40 minutes, plan more than one outfit. You will get more different looking images, which means more content. You can do that yourself, hire a stylist or ask your photographer if she/he can help with planning your clothes if that option is included

Get your make up and hair done. If it’s a personal photoshoot don’t try to save money on hiring a make up artist! Getting some help in that will make you you feel more confident and your images will look more professional. But again it depends on your personal goals. If in real life you barely wear any name up maybe yo won’t need it this time either

Think of the props you want to use beforehand. Maybe you would want to buy anything? make should you get the delivery in time!

And to sum up, the more you are prepared, the better the result would be! But also accept some spontaneousness, it makes the process fun too:)
